大三時一門英文系開的<英詩選讀>的課中上到這首，
自從我唸過之後就不曾忘記，是我印象最深的一首英詩，
說的是我們無法掌握的人生。

就像一隻獵犬，
此刻對你百依百順的狗，
你無法預測下一秒牠會不會突然凶惡地攻擊你。
人生不就是這樣嗎？

我一直對於Robert Francis絕妙的比喻非常佩服，
那一定是有著相同的經歷才寫得出的，
心裡深層的感觸。

他啟發了我，
面對獵犬般的人生，
需要極大的智慧和強烈的意志，(以及足夠的豁達)
才能勇敢走下去。

Life the hound
Equivocal
Comes at a bound
Either to rend me
Or to befriend me.
I cannot tell
The hound's intent
Till he has sprung
At my bare hand
With teeth or tongue.

And wait the event.
